- The Business Manager shall support time and labor data entry requirements; assists in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, manages a staff of personnel, and human resources support requirements; and attends meetings and prepare minutes of meeting as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Participates in Payroll and Accounting support.
Time and labor data entry for CMMS (i.e. GFEBS) and payroll process.
Contributes to month end accounting.
Maintains records, files and logs, typing all general correspondence as required.
Ensures maintenance of effective internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements.
Reviews financial documents such as vouchers, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure that proper cost centers are charged, that expenditures and revenues are recorded in the proper classification, and that purchases, and other transactions are proper in accordance with the approved budget.
Provides up-to-date detailed cost accounting information for budgeting and cost control purposes.
Assists managers with budget preparation and monitoring. Analyzes and explains variances, reports on irregularities, and prepares correction action plans for budget over-runs.
Gathers, compiles and analyzes data to assist in the rate development process.
Prepares monthly financial statements and ensures their accuracy and timeliness.
Resolves accounting and financial problems and/or issues.
Ensures complete and up-to-date operating procedures for all accounting and financial controls.
Ensures proper preparation for any financial audit.
Reviews all receipts and disbursements, ascertains correct account distribution and ensuring all support documentation is accurate and in order.
Prepares special cost studies as required.
Supervises the Project’s Contract, Subcontract, and Procurement efforts.
Ensures that competition rules are followed and proprietary data is maintained and safeguarded.
Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Accounting degree or experience preferred.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience as Office Manager, Office Operations or related fields is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have working knowledge of computers and the ability to use commercial software programs such as Microsoft Office.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications especially Word and Excel.
Possess a high degree of proficiency in assigned function and attention to details.
Ability to answer multiple telephone lines.
Type or perform data entry activities at 45 wpm with minimal mistakes.
Maintain neat and orderly files.
Ability to read, write and receive written and/or verbal instructions in English.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills for interfacing with military and civilian customers
Ability to travel.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Must possess valid State Driver’s License
Ability to use computer manuals to perform system administration functions.
Ability to use these forms and databases to provide monthly CDRL reports to the Government.
Ability to greet visitors and ascertains the nature of their business and directs them accordingly.
Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
