About DWS:

The Pearson Digital Workplace Services [DWS] team is simplifying how Pearson employees work, engage and collaborate using a broad range of technology, initiatives and transformation activities introducing new, globally consistent platforms and services primarily based on Microsoft products: with Office 365 (replacing Google G-Suite) being a key delivery over the next 18 months.

About you:

You are an experienced Business Analyst who has worked for large global organizations. You have worked for organizations who are at the forefront of the digital revolution.

You relished the opportunity to deliver a real variety of projects in the Microsoft arena. These projects enable organization to continuously leverage the capability of Microsoft with focus on Office 365.

You enjoy evaluating information from multiple sources, understanding and determining the user requests. As a key member of a team, you bring your proven history of managing strong relationships and understanding business requirements.

You take responsibility for capturing and documenting the business requirements and delivering solutions. This can involve developing plans and delivering a step-by-step guide to key stakeholders and ensuring the expectations are achieved.

Role purpose:

This BA role is supporting the Pearson DWS vision to be become a truly digital workplace by leveraging the UCC suite of tools (primarily Office 365) and driving return on our investment by utilizing the vast capability of Office 365.

To realize these goals and objectives the position must balance the ability to elicit, analyze, specify, validate and verify with a delivery focused pragmatism.

Above all this is an exciting time to work at Pearson: we are evolving the way we deliver the latest Microsoft workplace and security products in new and agile ways of operating as we rotate into a true Digital Workplace Service.

Key responsibilities

As a direct report to the Director of UCC within the Digital Workplace Services group, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • Elicitation – Uncover the underlying business issues that need to be addressed and discover any information related to projects

  • Analyse Requirements – Organizing, specifying and modelling requirements to ensure they are complete and unambiguous.

  • Specifying Requirements – Ensuring that the documentation of the requirements is in a layout and format that can be easily shared with and understood by stakeholders.

  • Validating and Verifying Requirements – Making sure that the requirements map to the business need being addressed, they are approved by all the appropriate stakeholders and that they meet with relevant quality standards.

  • Participate to the creation and contribute to the running of any Demand Management processes

  • Working with our colleagues to design and build collaboration solutions using our Office 365 products

  • Establishing a progressive strategy for collaboration across Pearson so we can exploit new opportunities as appropriate.

  • Strategically plan the implementation of new initiatives to enhance the global business. This includes projects related to investments and improvements

  • Supporting a view to fully automate the configuration and management of our Microsoft services

  • Ensuring that required metrics are understood and available.

  • Coordinating support for future M&A activities. This support includes initial impact assessments and planning as they relate to collaboration services.

Deliverables and outcomes

  • Support the myWorkplace Programme by creating the framework for transition to BAU

  • Create, in partnership with the UCC team, the framework for the utilization of the existing and new capability in Office 365 and support this going forward

  • Workplace Experience will be a priority. Constant focus and awareness of user experience and requirements will be key to ensuring our internal customers love Office 365

Qualifications

xperience and culture:

  • BA experience in Office 365

  • Enterprise global estates of 15,000 seats and above

  • Experienced in working with large geographically dispersed teams

  • Skills and qualifications:

  • Relevant Microsoft skills: Office 365, SharePoint

  • Strong PowerBI and Microsot Excel skills

  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Strong stakeholder analysis, management and communication skills

  • ECBA as a minimum plus CCBA or CBAP (or equivalent)

  • Interpersonal and consultative skills

  • Facilitation skills

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving

  • Being detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy

  • Organizational skills

  • Knowledge of business structure

  • Stakeholder analysis

  • Costs benefit analysis

  • Processes modeling
