The Product Manager, Biopharmaceutical Direct Material Supply Chain Services, has responsibility for full end-to-end general business management of the supply chain services portfolio. This includes developing and launching innovative supply chain services that significantly differentiate PCC in the Production Chemicals market for biopharmaceutical developers and manufacturers. Additionally, the incumbent will be the business manager for the complete portfolio of existing PCC services, including making critical business decisions to expand, enhance, or sunset existing services. The Product Manager makes objective, data driven business decisions and recommendations, and plays a central role in the long-term strategy of the PCC business. He/she serves as a key business advisor to the Director of Solution Management, Sr. Director of Sales, Sr. Director of Operations, Senior Manager of Marketing, and the Vice President/General Manager of the PCC business. As such, the Senior Product Manager plays a key role in the success of the PCC business unit.

The successful candidate will contribute the following:

  • Documentation (detailed specifications/ requirements) of PCC services

  • Quantification of value of PCC services

  • Economic modeling related to end to end service solutions, including ROI modeling

  • Curation and incubation of new services

  • Development and approval of business case for new services

  • Commercialization of new services

  • Development and management of sales support strategy and deliverables (in collaboration with Marketing) for services

  • Direct/ indirect support and engagement with specific complex solution sales opportunities (US and Ex-US)

  • Achievement of revenue/ EBITA target for services SOW gains within existing customer portfolio

  • Achievement of revenue/ EBITA target for services with net new customers

  • Driving net new sales of Production Chemicals by leveraging services with existing and new customers

  • Protecting existing customer business by assisting the commercial team in leveraging services during customer buying decisions

  • Achievement of customer experience (CAS) targets relative to service implementation and ongoing customer experience (e.g., QBRs, how ASCs service customers, etc., etc.)

  • Proactively gather industry, competitor, supplier and product intelligence related to the Biopharma Production Chemicals market.

  • Identify product and category gaps in the PCC Services portfolio; develop new service concepts that address supplier and product gaps.

  • Manage the service development pipeline to ensure the process is progressing. Evolve and leverage existing services as customer needs change.

  • Create business cases, including financial pro-forma, market analysis, customer needs assessment, and other critical elements of the New Product Introduction process as it pertains to services.

  • Prepare necessary presentations and reports in order to gain necessary buy-in and approval from key management stakeholders.

  • Help to develop and evolve the long-term strategy for the PCC business and how services are leveraged to grow strategically in existing and adjacent markets, as well as new geographies.

  • Execute projects according to defined project timelines and be accountable for agreed milestones and launch dates.

  • Follow new product introduction process best practices

  • Closely oversee and track commercial launches for new services

  • Collaborate and align with Thermo Fisher’s total Bioproduction strategy as pertains to related business units within Thermo Fisher.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Potential candidates should have relevant experience in the following areas:

  • Previous experience in product/portfolio management is required, including NPI processes. Prior Fortune 500 company experience preferred.

  • Previous experience with supply chain services strongly preferred

  • Previous experience with sourcing and/or distribution businesses

  • Prior commercial experience including Sales, Sales Management, Product Management, or related Marketing roles is strongly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer orientation and problem solving, can-do attitude

  • Multi-tasking experience and flexibility to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives

  • Ability to manage across functions, and exert influence and lead without direct line authority

  • Ability to clearly articulate activities and results to senior leadership

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a scientific field. An advanced degree in business or a physical science is strongly preferred.

  • MBA or equivalent experience strongly preferred

  • International background strongly preferred, especially a working understanding of Asian and European business environments

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Expert in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Deep experience with Salesforce (or equivalent) CRM reporting is desirable, with a working knowledge of Business Intelligence systems and tools.

  • Up to 50% travel.
