The Hertz Corporation Turnback Manager in East Boston, Massachusetts

General Responsibilities

This Management position will oversee the vehicle deletions function. This position impacts the success of our company by minimizing expenses and downtime, ensuring return on investment, proper body damage repair estimating, ensuring quality repairs & timely completion of all maintenance & damage vehicles for peak day rental. This position will work with other managers to improve the process and quality of our vehicles. This position will also serve as coverage when needed for fill-in or supplementary damage writing/Maintenance shop operations during peak periods.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Interpreting, implementing, and administering all vehicle manufacturer’s turnback programs and managing costs associated with same. Utilize reporting and documentation to monitor all turnback program eligible vehicles and prepare various reports for management. Interact and negotiate with various vehicle manufacturers and auction representatives and provide feedback to Hertz operation managers. In addition, partner with and assist the Damage/Maintenance Managers as needed with estimating/inspections and oversee daily operations of the maintenance repair shop.

Successful candidates will have 3-5 years of experience appraising body damaged vehicles. You will need strong customer service skills and negotiating skills as you will be responsible for meeting and greeting the body shop owners working on our fleet as well as discovering new body shops to add to our vendor list.

Excellent communication skills are needed as you will also be in contact with the body shops regarding the body damage, preparing administrative paperwork for the fleet, salvage packages, and will be responsible for quality control when work is being performed on the fleet.

The preferred candidate would be ASE certified for Body Damage estimating or ICAR certified. A working knowledge of the Mitchell 6.0 appraisal system is a plus!

  • Two or more years of supervisory management experience.

  • Strong organizational, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to effectively interact with internal & external customers

  • Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Some local travel required, may include other travel as needed.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with electronic estimating systems

  • Two or more years of electronic vehicle damage estimating experience.
