Marsh & McLennan Analyst II - Reinsurance Transactional Services in Edina, Minnesota

Working in collaboration with the Technical Accounts Team, this role provides support for Risk Entry for Proportional, Non Proportional treaty accounting. This will involve Proportional Treaty accounting review of contract documentation in a timely manner to verify terms that have been input by other staff for the Reinsurance placement. This role provides support to Front End Business Units post placement and will involve Risk Entry for Proportional Treaty Accounting, Non-Proportional, Public Entity/Primary Insurance and Facultative Agreements. Additionally, the candidate will input terms into the system, along with the processing of any associated contractual premiums and adjustments. Main responsibilities and Accountabilities: Processing Responsibilities: Ensure that work is processed accurately and within internal and external Service Level Agreements Work with all team members to service client accounts Understand reinsurance programs and reinsurance contracts and process premiums, revenue, tax deductions, cash calls and applicable adjustments Calculate and process monthly or quarterly treaty accounts and update statistical history Respond to queries raised by the client, market and internal stakeholders Produce renewal statistics and ad-hoc reports for accounts as requested Create client invoices and verify documentation, i.e. Endorsements, contract wording etc. for accuracy File correspondence/documentation in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Client Relationships & Team Working: As required by the IBA team, assist in collections activities Work with team members in US and Mumbai to service client accounts Document Management: Assist with or prepare payment support to clients Maintain accurate records of communications with reinsurers and clients Prepare Letter of Credit requirements where required Revenue Monitoring: Assist with calculating and entering each Calendar Year’s revenue projections for clients into the budget tool in accordance with contract documentation Monthly monitoring of brokerage forecasting and reporting variances to Manager Review contract documentation and verify pertinent revenue generated fields against information uploaded to the billing system Relationship Building: Ability to work in a small team and at times under pressure in a very busy environment in order to meet established deadlines Develop and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally Willingness to work collaboratively with and through others to deliver results System and Processes: Ensure that all statutory regulations and company procedures are adhered to in line with the OPM Appropriate use of internal systems and controls Experience and Education Requirements: A minimum of 2-3 years within the reinsurance or insurance industry Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, or a related field is preferred (equivalent experience will be considered) Thorough understanding of the technical side of insurance or reinsurance Strong verbal and written communication skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools specifically Excel and Word Able to work efficiently in a self-directed manner Strong organizational skills.
