Marsh & McLennan IT Business Analysis Specialist in Edina, Minnesota

This position is for an IT Business Analyst with strong reinsurance experience (preferably in reinsurance brokerage). In particular we are looking for candidates possessing a solid understanding of Front-Office applications related to Customer Relationship Management, Reinsurance Placements and Contract Maintenance within the reinsurance industry. The business analyst will work closely with business owners and users to understand and analyze business requirements and assist with business process improvement. The successful candidate will partner with fellow IT professionals within a multi-disciplined team to support end-to-end solution delivery, utilizing an Agile development approach. Duties will include the creation of required artifacts, configuration of applications, support of design review sessions, testing support, training support, knowledge sharing within and across teams, and support of transition and handover of solutions to production support teams. Responsibilities: Work within an Agile solutions delivery team to rollout, adopt, and realize benefits on behalf of the business Translate business strategies and objectives into business requirements Identify, verify and document functional requirements using Agile tools Conduct on-going conversations with business sponsors and users to allow discovery of ideas and move away from expectations (demands) to business-first goals and objectives. Provide traceability of business requirements to IT Solutions and ensure system testing encompasses existing capabilities of solutions as well as future functional requirements Identify data elements and provide data mappings/dictionaries Analyze, design and document “as is” and “to be” business processes Ensure development community has a clear and complete understanding of the requirements Conduct/facilitate acceptance tests for solutions with user community, including development of UAT test scenarios and test scripts Develop, deliver and evaluate training and supplemental materials Conduct and analyze feasibility studies/impact assessments, regarding implementation of IT solutions against current state parameters (process, application use-cases, and non-functional impact) Partner with Business/IT to define and manage scope for each release Provide critical input into the development of product roadmaps and work with the business to ‘think’ more agile Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 7+ years of experience in an IT environment in mid to large size corporations 5+ years of experience analyzing business problems and designing successful solutions 2+ years of experience with Agile teams and working with business contacts on product roadmaps Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including exposure to MS Project and Visio Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate strong business process analysis and documentation skills including the ability to elicit and document business requirements and lead sessions comprised of IT and business representatives Ability to articulate technical, business and design concepts to end users and development teams Good interpersonal skills with the ability to partner with IT, business partners and others to develop and design successful solutions Excellent communication skills, including fluency in written and spoken English Ability to work in a distributed team environment Commercial Reinsurance/Insurance experience preferred In addition it would be an asset if the candidate possessed any of the following experience: Customer Relationship Management software Configure Price Quote Software Contract Management Software Guy Carpenter & Company, LLC, a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, has over a 90-year history of providing integrated solutions to the (re)insurance industry.
