Job Summary

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Resident Engineer/Supervisor for immediate employment in the Edmonton, AB office - working on projects in Northern AB (Peace River, etc.). The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the Transportation industry, specific to highway construction projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide oversight of field site activities on multiple small projects:

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish complex goals

  • Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines

  • Monitors and documents conformance to quality, performance, safety and code requirements by overseeing field site activities on projects

  • Conducts on-site observations of work in progress to verify and ensure the procedures, materials and construction conform to specifications

  • Supervises and coordinates the efforts of inspectors, field engineers and other staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution

  • High school diploma with amble hands on experience will also be considered

  • 7+ years directly related experience on Alberta Transportation, City, and or Federal Government Construction projects

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills to track quantities; knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle for site work

  • Project oversight, document review, inspection, QA/QC, contractor supervision and coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years directly related experience on Alberta Transportation, City, and or Federal Government Construction projects
