*POSITION SUMMARY: * The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare and the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners. In collaboration with the patient, the patient's family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans.
REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATION
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texasor Compact Nursing License or Texas Graduate Nurse (GN) permit.All critical care Registered Nurses will be required to obtain addition ceritfications (e.g. PALS,ACLS, TNCC) in accordance with assigned critical care unit RN job description.
Current BCLS provider
(Minimum formal academic training which typically provides the knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance. Note in Other if experience may be substituted.) Graduation from an accredited/approved school of professional nursing, less than 6 month. Completion of ADN or BSN degree. ADN Graduates: Enrollment in a RN to BSN program is required within 90 days of hire date. Completion of BSN Program required within 3 years of enrollment.
*EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED (list required and preferred separately* 1. Critical Care Background 2. Dysrhythmia Recognition 3. Proficiency in EKG *SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:* 1. Medical nursing unit experience preferred 2. Read and write basic English with basic skills necessary to transfer physician orders 3. Knowledge of body substance isolation 4. Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds with assistance from others 5. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. 6. Basic computer skills and proficiency 7. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills
