CBRE Financial Analyst in El Segundo, California
Seeking a high quality financial analyst who can work independently under pressure and tight deadlines, is looking for learning and growth opportunities within a fortune 500 company, and can contribute with his/her own ideas to the team. The key role of this position is to assist with the monthly and quarterly financial performance reporting for the Americas and the preparation of various routine and ad hoc financial analyses and deliverables.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for researching, analyzing and explaining the drivers for monthly, quarterly and year to date financial results and variance drivers vs. plan and prior year for a specific set of P&L accounts for all business lines and markets in the US, Canada and Latin America within a short month-end-close time frame. • Produces a variety of routine and ad hoc financial reports, packages and pro formas for senior management. • Researches and prepares reports, analyses and recommendations in areas such as standardized financial reporting and ad hoc projects with financial impact. • Works closely with various internal Business Finance Teams and US Accounting during the month-end-close ensuring accuracy of the monthly general ledger results and ensuring accurate business driver explanations are provided for all P&L variances during the close. • Assists with general leger chart field and system maintenance related to the team’s standardized reporting. • Acts as a subject matter expert for profit and loss statement accounts, specific reports and projects. Uses aggregate data from multiple sources to create a complete analysis, improvements and recommendations.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to co-workers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
QUALIFICATIONS • Education - Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. 3-4 years related experience preferred, or combination of equivalent education and experience in accounting and finance. • Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports. Ability to respond to inquiries from internal customers or management. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers or other internal customers. • Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. • Systems skills – strong MS Office Products (Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, etc) with advanced Excel knowledge. Ability to work with various financial systems: PeopleSoft, Cognos and other systems is a plus. Ability to use query and report generation tools. • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. • Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology helpful.
