support FEMA in providing course development for a Fire Investigation Curriculum..

Essential Duties

  • A subject matter expert (SME) is the definitive source of

knowledge, technique, or expertise in a specific subject area as defined by the

particular project.

  • The SME functions as the authority for their knowledge area and

applies their expertise to support an organization's vision and strategic

direction.

Minimum

Qualifications:(To

perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an

accredited institution of higher learning in the field of electrical

engineering, or qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, or equivalent.

  • IAAI-Certified

Fire Investigator.

  • 5 or more years’

experience, within the last 10 years, as a practicing fire investigator or

forensic consulting engineer.

Knowledge, Skills

and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated

experience performing electrical demonstrations that involve arc mapping, high

resistance connections, and electrical systems/circuits buildouts.

  • Current knowledge

and significant experience in the investigation of electrical fires and failure

analysis demonstrated by documentation of experience or equivalent training or

a combination of both experience and training.

  • Current knowledge in single and

three-phase industrial, commercial and residential electrical systems,

equipment and circuits.
