General Responsibilities

Hertz is searching for a motivated, dedicated individual to fill its eDiscovery and Records Retention Analyst position. The primary mission of the eDiscovery and Records Retention Analyst is to: 1) plan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day eDiscovery project activities across U.S. legal matters; and 2) assist functional business units with meeting records retention requirements, provide training, and coordinate IT deliverables on records preservation and timely removal. This will include data management, vendor management, communication and monitoring, change control, setting specifications, and document distribution. These efforts will also include supporting department attorneys, internal clients, and external counsel, along with managing data and communication to support requests for execution and fulfillment.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  1. Plan, coordinate and manage day-to-day eDiscovery project activities across U.S. legal matters including data management, vendor management, communication, and monitoring.

  2. Collaborate with Hertz attorneys and outside attorneys on preservation and collection plans, matter status, deadline management, eDiscovery budget, logistics, and documentation efforts for defensibility of process. Coordinates project specifications to ensure requirements and timelines are understood and met.

  3. Provide technical expertise and communicate requirements to IT, internal business personnel, and outside vendors. Serve as a subject matter expert to internal clients and team members by refining requests and identifying sources to meet business needs.

  4. Implement records management policies intended to standardize storage, protection, and retrieval of records, maintained in either electronic or paper repositories.

  5. Collect, review, index, retain, and dispose of records according to prescribed procedures and policies.

  6. Maintain systems to meet administrative, legal, and compliance requirements.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Business, Legal Studies, or related field.

Professional Experience:

  1. 4 or more years of relevant experience, which includes electronic discovery project management and/or document retention work.

  2. Experience processing data with eDiscovery software (ingesting, processing, imaging or producing).

  3. Understanding of technology applications relevant to records management environments.

  4. Practical knowledge of records management laws and regulations.

  5. Experience managing the proper retention and deletion of important records.

  6. Ability to make decisions with supervision on record retention processes and procedures.

Skills:

  1. Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  2. Ability to operate in fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy.

  3. Ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop solutions, and make sound decisions.

  4. Excellent organization skills.
