General Responsibilities

RAC Operations Veterans Leadership Development Program

The RAC Operations Veteran Leadership Development Program provides a unique opportunity for veterans and transitioning service members in the senior non-commissioned officer to junior officer levels with a proven track record of exceptional leadership within their respective services. This program offers a unique opportunity from “left seat, to right seat” through the business building a greater understanding and career foundation in a global function.

The RAC Operations VLDP is a fast-paced intensive program utilizing a balance of both on-the-job and classroom training. The program provides the veteran candidates with a foundation of knowledge and gives them exposure to all the different echelons of the business. This 12-month rotational program includes exposure to field and corporate operations to include applicable experience in many areas within our operations group.


Mandatory Requirements

The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the incumbent are to:

Complete the RAC Operations Veteran Leadership Development Program core rotations of:

  • Operational Management

  • Fleet Management

  • Maintenance Management

  • Customer Service

  • Sales

  • Process Improvement

Ideal candidate would be veterans or transitioning service members who have successfully performed duties in the pay grades of E-7 to E-9 and O-2 to O-4

Learn various staff functions, including operations, management viewpoints and company policies and practices affecting each phase of business

Work in a fast-paced environment, while providing helpful employee and customer service that enhances Hertz’s success

Complete Green Belt Certification with project completion related to department of rotation

Meet performance goals and objectives set by upper management and determined upon accepting position

Report on progress of goals and objectives

Monitor performance progress with leaders and key mentors

Maintain monthly meetings with assigned mentor

Effectively communicate the strategic mission of all projects supporting the advancement of the organization

Make suggestions on improving work procedures and elevate concerns of development program to provide optimal operational efficacies

The RAC Operations Veterans Leadership Development Program is a development position in the company. The RAC Operations Development Program will rotate to various functions of the COE to gain functional understanding and afterwards advance to a regular role.
