Transdev Operations Planner in Fairfax, Virginia
This individual will play a pivotal role on the team by serving as project manager and deputy project manager on high profile projects. In addition, this individual will collaborate with other departments in the organization in order to identify solutions to internal and external challenges.
This is for proposed business all offers are contingent upon Transdev's award of the contract.
Serve as Project Manager and/or Deputy Project Manager for assigned projects and studies, overseeing the work effort.
Assist in the management of consultants and contractors
Monitor, review, and contribute to the maintenance and updating of transit elements of the regional short and long-range transportation plan.
Coordinate with local and regional planning partners and stakeholders
Manage tasks and resources, identify challenges and solutions
Prepare documents and reports for internal and external purposes
Other duties as required.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:
5-7 years operations experience in transit or urban planning.
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Ability to interact effectively with management, staff, and others outside the agency.
Knowledge of software applications for producing reports.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Strong technical writing skills.
Strong verbal communication skills, including presentation, facilitation, and listening skills.
Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts.
Travel requirement (as a percent): <5% travel between properties and for meetings and outside training.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
- Must submit to drug testing and a criminal background check.
Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
