Summary:

Chenega Professional & Technical Services (CPTS) is seeking a Policy/Communications Technical Writer to support the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Policy/Communications Technical Writer will perform technical document reviews, analysis, and document development involving Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Identity Management systems and projects. The types of technical documents that will be developed and updated are PKI and security policies, communications materials for intra-organizational notices and email campaigns, and program capstone documents such as Training, Requirements, Technical and Architectural Design, and Concept of Operations documents. This position will support and take direction from the Identity Access Management (IdAM) program Technical Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)

  • Develop high-level policy and processes.

  • Perform peer reviews on IdAM customer deliverables and coordinate document delivery dates (e.g., peer review comments, responses, response time, and final due date).

  • Formal meeting minutes.

  • Provide formal weekly and monthly program updates to government clients.

  • Support implementation of policy and processes.

  • Provide computer and coordination support for briefings, including developing and printing view graphs and operating computers to project computer-based briefings.

  • Use computer software compatible with the government software.

  • Coordinate with the communications department for organizational communications for IdAM program notices and system deployments.

Minimum Qualifications:(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of technical writing experience in information technology and cybersecurity related work. Experience in PKI and Identity & Access Management (IAM) projects will be a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (can be waived if relevant commensurate work experience is demonstrated).

  • Familiarity with Identity Credential Access Management in Federal Government (FICAM).

  • Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure X.509 Policy.

  • Writing samples requested during interview.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with Google Docs is a plus.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Basic knowledge of governmental business operations and administrative processes.

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take proactive action when needed.
