Monsanto Continuous Improvment Specialist in FARMER CITY, Illinois

Bayer is looking for a North America Row Crops MPS Continuous Improvement located in Farmer City, IL reporting to the Site Lead. This position will provide leadership for Monsanto Production System (MPS) Sustainability & Continuous Improvement efforts at the Farmer City site. The candidate will coach and mentor employees working closely with site leads, regional MPS implementation leads, regional crop leads, CoE, process engineering team, change management team and HR team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical

  • Develop robust understanding of MPS methodology, lean content and change management approach to successfully coach and help MPS implemented sites

  • Review opportunities and findings at specific site and share them across other sites

  • Guide teams to size the value improvements and prioritize initiatives

  • Coach / guide the team to ensure the recommendations and actions improve value for the site and Bayer (in alignment with Strive for Five goals and AM2020 targets) and can be implemented sustainably

  • Lead best practices sharing across the site

  • Update the MPS standards in collaboration with Production CoE and other MPS Implementation Leads

  • Act as an SME and facilitate the continuous improvement journey

  • MPS Leadership

  • Lead MPS sustainability & continuous improvement efforts at sites - Review MPS journey status and challenge teams to develop action plans to close gaps to plan e.g. timelines, practice maturity progression, financial targets, adoption and sustainability of improvements

  • Ensure people changes are on track to support sustainable changes including an emphasis on change management and the implementation of competency frameworks and role descriptions

  • Lead and facilitate milestone reviews and provide specific MPS workshops as needed

  • Coordinate with stakeholders at site

  • MPS journey

  • Maintain regular touch points with site and regional leadership

  • Validate and report benefits (operational and financial results) from site

  • Managing Change

  • Ensure change management requirements are being addressed and coordinate change efforts to implement and sustain improvement

  • Ensure adequate and timely communication at sites

  • Ensure adequate training of site personnel when needed. Deliver trainings, as required

  • Coach site leads, areas lead on the MPS concepts.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Valid Driver's license

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, engineering disciplines, supply chain management, or related field

  • 5+ years’ experience in operations

  • Leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain

  • Experience in managing and developing teams

  • Skilled at leading, managing conflict, and negotiating with cross-functional teams

  • Strong ability to influence others

  • Demonstration of courage, candor and initiative in past assignments

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Additional methodology training and certifications (e.g., Lean certification, Six-sigma black belt certification etc.)

  • Understanding of plant operations

  • Previous Production System Experience

  • Focus on value delivery (e.g. cost reduction, productivity improvement, behaviors, and practices)

  • Ability to plan, execute, and validate business benefits

  • Ability to work well cross functionally and globally

  • Reputation that commands thoughtful hearing from management at all levels

  • Opinion leader among peers and team

  • Experience with large scale change
