Family Summary/Mission: To support Aetna s ability to achieve our financial and strategic goals through effective underwriting. Central Underwriting Control, Governance and Risk Management of the AI operation to maximize revenue, membership and earnings and achieve profitable growth whilst maintain risk controls. Position Summary/Mission: Implementing Underwriting Governance and Controls to support the AI Operating Model. Implement and communicate the International Underwriting processes, controls, procedures, documentation tracking and reporting required to run a multi national Underwriting organization. Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements: Develop the Underwriting processes and procedures to create a common approach to practices and principles across the regions. This includes the development of Underwriting Manuals and Guidelines, Tracking and Auditing of cases across regions Develop current Underwriting Manuals and guidelines appropriate for the new regional operating modelDocument UW Authorities and create an Auditing structure to review cases regionallyCreate Regulatory risk tolerance structure and reporting to PRC sDocument UW processes and communicationSet up, manage and document Regional UW governance meetings with key stakeholdersWork with other Central UW functions on rate model development, UW reporting requirements, Plan actions and input.Be the lead in the development of Policy wording through collaboration with the key business stakeholders, Regional Underwriting, Actuarial, Product, Claims, Marketing, Sales and Customer Services.Distribute communications to Underwriters and regional sales teams identifying current practices or changes to Underwriting policy.Development of training material for delivery by Regional Underwriters to sales and account management teams Project management experiencePerforms data collection, analytical research and root cause analysis.Identifies issues that may stall project and addresses them.Edits and maintains project-related materials.Tracks and monitors progress against timeline and key milestones.Actively participates in the development of the communications materials on project status to all impacted parties.Actively participates on development of implementation plan to ensure all impacted parties (up stream/down stream) are informed of next steps for completion.May assist with project logistics including agenda, meeting arrangements and minutes. Background/Experience Desired: Must have experience in an insurance environment Experienced 5 years in international health insurance underwriting highly desirableProven track record of coordinating common practices, processes and templates across an internal structure.Project management skills ideal.Experience of presentations and leading project teamsExcellent presentation skillsFluent in written & spoken English Educational Requirements:Degree or equivalent experienceAdditional Information (not mandatory to complete):Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional analytical skills.Ability to communicate effectively with management.Ability to work collaboratively within work teams.Strong organization skills.
