This dynamic Accounting & Compliance Manager will be responsible for compliant accounting in accordance with US-GAAP and Thermo Fisher Scientific Accounting Rules. This Accounting & Compliance Manager will play a leading role in the monthly close cycle, banking, statutory reporting, and management of internal control structure for two locations in Florence, SC and one location in Greenville, SC.



  • Ensuring timely and accurate monthly/quarterly/yearly accounting reports and filing in line with US GAAP and Thermo Fisher Accounting rules.

  • Ensuring timely and accurate supplemental reporting.

  • Completing government and corporate reporting requests such as census, tax, insurance, leasing, etc.

  • Ensuring an effective internal control structure is in place.

FICO Accountability

  • Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed timely, accurately, and reviewed regularly.

  • Responsible for all cash receipt and payment processes.

  • Interface with GBS Finance for all outsourced Finance processes.

  • Responsible for site relationships with banking and statutory authorities.

  • Responsible for SOX compliance.

Project Management

  • Site implementations of Accounting and Compliance systems.

People Management

  • Supporting a positive workplace culture and exhibiting inspirational leadership.

  • Training and development of direct reports.

  • Performance management of direct reports, including adhering to performance review timelines and guidelines.

Continuous Improvement

  • Championing process improvement principles and driving a CI mindset within team.

  • Contributing to improvements in reporting and efficiency within team.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Economics/Math/Finance/Accounting required; Master’s Degree in Business/Economics/Math/Finance/ or Accounting preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience; or a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Project Management experience preferred.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.

  • SAP and database experience preferred; Blackline a plus; Advanced Excel skills required

  • Balance between “big picture view” FICO and single process operations.

  • Knowledge and awareness of different local and foreign legislations and requirements.

  • Ability to set deadlines (realistic setting and adherence).

  • Ability to present conceptual data clearly and understandably.
