Kaiser Permanente Director, Human Resources in Fontana, California
Accountable for all human resources functions within a medical center and medical office buildings, which include strategy, integration, planning, training and communication. Has joint team accountability for the success of a Medical Center area and participates in the development and implementation of the business plan. Develops strong collaborative leadership relationship with KFHP/H leadership teams and the Medical Group to achieve regional and medical center goals. Participates with peers to ensure the rapid transfer of best practices. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with medical center area senior leadership, Medical Group and KFHP/H departments.

In conjunction with regional HR Leadership and Directors, develops and implements policies and practices that reflect the vision of Kaiser Permanente.
Collaborates with medical center area management team and the Medical Group in planning the human relations strategy and direction which supports the business strategies.
Develops processes for fair selection, recruiting, hiring and management practices.
Assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates education and training needs of the internal staff.
Assures consistent interpretation and application of personnel policies, statutory regulations and laws, and programs by advising and guiding management in the effective use of all human resources programs consistent with the objectives and goals of the service area and division.
Plans and develops annual budgets for all areas of responsibility.
Maintains an effective and collaborative relationship with the labor unions.
Develops a multi-disciplinary team of HR consultants, generalists and specialists.
Establishes collaboratively with the medical center area management team, the overall financial plan and a process to allocate and utilize resources as well as monitor and maintain financial performance.
Ensures compliance with administrative, legal and regulatory requirements of local, state and regulatory federal agencies.
- Minimum six (6) years of experience in project management, strategic planning and management/leadership role of human resources or business management.
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or other related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
Extensive knowledge of human resources laws and regulations.
Proficient in team building, conflict resolution, group interaction as well as in projects and budget management.
Demonstrated ability to determine the key issues in a particular operational situation, involve the appropriate individuals, and
develop appropriate plan of action from multi-disciplinary perspectives.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- Master's degree preferred.
