Job Summary

Performs facility operations and maintenance activities at the CDTF. This positions primary duties are the oversight of the custodial services at the CDTF which involves performing duties identified in the CDTF task and frequency chart for custodial services as well as meeting the URS custodial plan requirements. Seen below are some of the essential duties.

Duty hours 0700 – 0345hrs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, dust-mop, vacuum floors and entrances.

  • Damp mop floors.

  • Spray and buff floors.

  • Dust baseboards.

  • Remove trash (large and small containers).

  • Clean water fountains.

  • Clean & re-supply restrooms.

  • Descale urinals & toilet bowls.

  • Strip and wax floors.

  • Police outside areas.

  • Dust light fixtures, pictures, ornaments.

  • Wipe down vending machines.

  • Clean windows, picture glass, partition glass, entrance doors & metal shelves.

  • Wipe down counters in fax/copy rooms.

  • Clean locker rooms, changing areas, latrines, shower areas, sinks, soap dispensers, mirrors.

  • Clean kitchens/break rooms/microwaves.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail, good comprehensive and analytical skills, and excellent organizational skills.

  • Operates a variety of equipment such as vacuums, buffers, fans, shampooers, and sprayers to perform duties.

Other duties as assigned by Lead or Management.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

High school or equivalent education and minimum of 2+ years of work experience as a janitor or custodian is required.

Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.
