Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a QC Inspector to be based at CNRL Albian in Northern Alberta.

The successful individual will be a member of the team responsible for performing a variety of control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc. at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.

May include the following responsibilities:

  • Assists engineers in testing and inspecting products at various and specified stages in production and tests such parameters as dimensions, performance, mechanical, chemical, or electrical characteristics

  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics

  • Utilizes instruments and equipment to help analyze, control, and minimize product variations

  • Analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards

  • Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods, and procedures to improve quality

  • May work in any of the following areas of quality control/assurance: incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, or research and development

  • Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and related government regulations

  • Possesses and applies an extensive knowledge of products and production processes along with statistical control procedures, design, and testing procedures.

  • Uses principles of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve practical testing and control problems. Responsible for ensuring quality through testing and inspection at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability.

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas, and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

  • May specialize in particular area of quality control/assurance such as incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, or research and development.

  • May assign, monitor, and review progress and accuracy of work of a group of employees.

  • Orients and trains the work of lower level employees.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates degree or 2+ years of formal technical training or demonstrated equivalent

  • 6 years of experience in area of specialization

  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) Certification.

  • Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection (OSSA issued ticket is the general requirement) Certification.

  • Confined Space Entry (CSE) Certification.

  • This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.

  • CSA 178.2 CWB Level 2.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Turnarounds, Shutdowns and/or Outages
