TheSupplier Performance Directormanages the Supplier Performance area in the Supply Chain function, including supplier rating and scorecards, supplier qualification/certification, supplier improvement plans, strategic supplier relationships, SRM and database.
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the supplier performance rating system.
Create policies and procedures to govern supplier performance system and achieve government compliance. Work with Legal, Contracts, Sourcing and other stakeholders as necessary to ensure continuity.
Monitor supplier performance on all DI programs. Work with divisions to develop roll-out plan, implementation metrics, and monitoring for new programs.
Provide education and training to business areas and Supplier Performance team.
Maintain supplier qualification system.
Responsible for supplier relationship management.
Define and create strategic supplier relationship program.
Monitor and correct subcontractor performance. Lead root cause analysis as required. Work with business areas and programs to develop and execute return to green plans (RTG). Provide training to field personnel in relevant techniques as necessary.
Assist in identification and mitigation of supplier risk on multiple levels. Work with senior leadership to develop risk assessment program.
Notifiy upper management and site Program Management of potential non-compliance and other problems that could have an adverse impact to the company.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft office applications and working experience with spreadsheets. Database familiarity and systems configuration a plus.
Skilled in Supplier Relationship Management and managing suppliers.
Advanced knowledge of Supplier Quality systems, measurement, and tracking.
Thorough knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) and related federal and state legislation and regulations.
Knowledge of Service Contract Act and Truth in Negotiations Act.
Knowledge International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), if required for contract.
Excellent oral and written communications.
Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage in a matrix environment.
Knowledge of/experience in Lean techniques.
Effective meeting facilitation skills, including meetings with senior executive management.
Strong strategic thinking and analytics.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years contracts or supplier management or related field experience can be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
Twelve (12) years of experience in supplier management, strategic sourcing, supplier performance and quality, contract administration.
Five (5) years supervisory experience to include a leadership role of a major department.
Demonstrated, effective interaction with C-level executives in supplier and customer areas.
