How will you make an impact?

The Global Marketing Manager will be responsible for the global downstream marketing activities for the Thermo Fisher Scientific Clinical Diagnostics Niche Business Unit product portfolio, including leading the development and execution of digital marketing strategies to deliver on the Business Unit’s sales and revenue goals. Work closely with the Product Managers on messaging and marketing programs, and will collaborate globally with Commercial Sales, Training and Upstream Marketing on voice of the customer inputs, competitive intelligence and market trends to build robust marketing plans for the Niche product portfolio. Collaborate with global regional marketing partners to develop and deliver on aligned commercial strategies and drive consistency in branding and messaging. Supervise a Marketing Communications Specialist, who will be responsible for developing and delivering marketing materials to support the business.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for development and execution of downstream marketing strategies and tactics to achieve or exceed business unit goals and objectives.

  • Lead downstream product marketing activities to be consistent globally and partner with regional marketing teams to ensure appropriate implementation of commercial strategies and marketing campaigns.

  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies across all digital channels from concept to launch, analysis and refinement.

  • Manage day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of the website and digital marketing programs.

  • Evaluate effectiveness of digital programs through metrics and analysis, and develop insights to inform strategies. Publish monthly and quarterly dashboards that track marketing campaigns and KPIs.

  • Ensure creation and delivery of compelling, high quality, timely marketing communications materials.

  • Supervise, coach and mentor Marketing Communications Specialist.

  • Work closely with the commercial marketing team to identify content gaps and define and drive downstream execution of marketing strategies and priorities for the global market segments.

  • Work with global commercial marketing and sales teams to develop commercial plans and new product launch plans in conjunction with Product Management, Training and R&D to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Identify digital marketing trends and best practices, and serve as internal consultant on digital marketing.

  • Track competitive activities, proactively develop marketing campaigns and work closely with regional marketing partners to understand changing market dynamics.

  • Effectively communicate MarCom tactics to regional/country marketing teams to support the implementation of regional marketing tactics such as PR, email campaigns, advertising placements, and digital marketing for assigned product lines.

  • Liaise with other marketing communications personnel, divisional and group contacts across Thermo Fisher Scientific to further integrate, determine co-marketing activities and package appropriate products and services company-wide to form a total solution offering.

  • Identify key vendors for various projects and customer lists.

  • Collaborate with legal team to develop and manage legal contracts between external partners and vendors.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, professional associations, external partners and advisory boards.

  • Work closely with QA team during audits to assure SOP compliance.

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

How will you get here?

  • Minimum of 7-8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 5-6 years and a Master’s or PhD degree

  • Solid business acumen and knowledge of medical device / diagnostics or life sciences market environment required.

  • Downstream marketing experience required.

  • Digital marketing experience required, including content generation, social media, website development and management, email, video, SEO/SEM, web analytics, Account Based Marketing, etc.

  • Proficient with marketing and sales automation tools and CRM reporting (SalesForce, HootSuite, Google AdWords, LinkedIn Ads, YouTube Ads and Facebook Ads).

  • Supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Adept at anticipating problems and recognizing opportunities.

  • Strong project management and collaboration skills, team player, and a creative problem solver.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Able to coach and supervise, guiding others in mastering new programs and tasks.

  • Position may require domestic and global travel (25%).
