Shift: 6am-2:30pm

Salary: $17.00

Job Description:

Arrow Electronics is looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals that work well in a fast-paced computer & electronics repair warehouse in Columbus, OH.

This position supports the operation by performing various technical roles, including data entry, setup and testing, data erasure, and basic repairs of computer equipment, which includes: Notebook/Desktop Computers, Servers, Network Devices, Cell Phones, Tablets, Flat Panel Monitors and similar computer electronics and hardware.

This position operates from Monday – Friday. Overtime work can be regular and is required based on business goals. Impeccable attendance is required.

As a Production Technician II, you will be required to excel in the areas of quality, quantity, teamwork, and work habits. You must have a high level of understanding of the following responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced set up and testing of computer equipment and components with software programs, including those required to troubleshoot, test, and erase computer hardware.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on units missing hardware using established test equipment and procedures.

  • Analyze symptoms displayed by unit to determine pass or fail status of computer hardware.

  • Perform regular mechanical or electronic adjustment to equipment being tested.

  • Disassemble, remove, and replace computer components, which may include computer memory, hard drives, or AC adapters.

  • Experienced with server hardware, hard drive arrays, RAID controllers, and similar technologies.

  • Command line configuration experience with DOS, terminal, Cisco.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and exceptional housekeeping by following established safety procedures including wearing required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Maintain required quality and production levels.

  • Maintain administrative related duties in a timely manner (i.e. reports, timely punches at time clock, etc.)

  • Clean, package, and box items for resale.

  • Advanced repair on notebooks desktops and servers

  • Required to train Tech 1 employees

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to use software for data erasure on Laptops, Desktops, Hard Drives and Servers.

  • Must have strong attention to detail for written documentation for all test procedures

  • Ability to identify a variety of computer equipment.

  • Ability to follow written directions to perform test and data erasure steps on mobility devices such as cell phones and tablets.

  • Ability to identify basic computer devices including, PC’s, laptops, HDD’s, printers, networking, monitors.

  • Intermediate level unit testing experience and ability to operate in an assembly-line environment.

  • Skilled knowledge of computer components and ability to perform routine repairs on laptops and desktop computers.

  • Technical/functional expert knowledge of computer hardware.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel).

  • This position involves sitting, standing and or walking for considerable lengths of time. Bending to floor level is required. Heavy lifting (up to 50Lbs) is required.

  • Reading, writing, and understanding of English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, production, or general labor work environment.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • A+ certification.

  • Associates (two year) degree.

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse environment.

  • Must be comfortable working under high productivity and quality standards.

  • You absolutely must be able to work well in a team-environment and will also have opportunity as an individual contributor.

  • Impeccable attendance is required.
