Specific Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Directly supervises production and delivery of food to patients, physicians, cafeteria, and special functions.

  • Insures food is ready prior to service schedule for each serving area.

  • Completes serving period in a timely manner.

  • Monitors proper temperatures, food quality, portion control, and proper garnishing for tray line, cafeteria, special functions and Dr. Lounge meal services.

  • Ensures trays are delivered to patients in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Logs temperature of refrigerators, freezers, and dish machine per procedure and reports problems promptly.

  • Assures staff meets sanitation, infection control, and safety standards.

  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the department.

  • Ensures employees practice all safety techniques and incident reports are completed in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrates leadership skills.

  • Performs employee evaluations in an objective and timely manner.

  • Organizes/adjusts daily work routines of employees to maximize productivity without interference in the quality of work performed.

  • Supports hospital/departmental policies.

  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship and shares necessary information (includes the uses of supervisor log and computer) with Department Management Team (Director, Chief Clinical Dietitian, Nutritional Service Manager and other supervisors.)

  • Performs other related functions as assigned. (Special Projects)

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: High School Graduate or GED preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: 2 years related experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Ability to organize, follow written and verbal instructions and demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: CPFM - Certified Professional Food Manager through the State of Florida (within 3 months of hire)
