Controls Engineer - Technical Advisor - Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies
This is an exciting opportunity in Galesburg, MI for a Controls Engineer - Technical Advisor - Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies.
Applies highly specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks to develop and support activities in the area of Controls engineering.
Lead large or multiple engineering projects.Performs as the local technical expert for one or more engineering specialties.
Solves complex problems impacting multiple projects.
Communicates with and influences key external stakeholders and business leaders.
Drives and manages system level requirements for projects or programs.
Makes critical program-related decisions. Collaborates with industry peers within their discipline.
Advances the state of the practice for the technical discipline.
Sets strategic direction for a program or technical discipline.
Advises and transfers knowledge of engineering discipline; coaches and mentors less experienced engineers.
Advises leaders for resolution of complex business problems.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master's degree or equivalent advanced degreein Engineering preferred
Significant level of relevant work experience required. Ten or more years’ experience in a similar discipline expected.
This position is part of a team developing next generation powertrain embedded control systems.
As a key member of the team, you will help define requirements, design embedded system software architecture and algorithm solutions, define test plans and perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.
You will have the opportunity to be mentored and trained by senior level embedded controls engineers and software architects to help grow your overall expertise.
Mentor other engineers to help build the organization.
Experience/knowledge of vehicle powertrain systems and components.
Contribute to software architecture designs and process improvement ideas.
Experience with simulation, scripting and and production code generation using Matlab/Simulink
Experience with Vector tools such as CANape and CANalyzer.
Ability to analyze complex systems, understand interactions and find solutions to challenging problems
