Reports to the maintenance manager.

What you will do:

  • Lead the E&I maintenance team

  • Safe and reliable execution of E&I maintenance work throughout the plant by demonstrating responsible, positive leadership for two direct report supervisors, and maintenance electrical and instrumentation technicians

  • Ensure work team adheres to the maintenance work management system and meeting weekly schedules

  • Ensure the proper execution of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance Strategies

  • Communicate the safety vision and inspiration for the I&E group; work with safety department on electrical safety guidelines for the site

  • Enable the technicians and emphasizes their successes

  • Provide overall guidance with clear vision for corporate reliability strategy and KPI goals for Maintenance

  • Follow major I&E equipment repairs and ensures associated procedures/recommendations developed by the I&E Reliability group are applied and followed

  • Work with training department to identify developmental and training opportunities for all direct and indirect reports

  • Work with Planning and TAR teams to develop scope and schedule for routine and major outages

  • Lead Human Resources related activities for I&E Maintenance such as hiring, termination, promotions, annual reviews, succession planning

  • Work with Procurement team to optimize procurement contracts

  • Perform the duties of the Weekend Emergency Manager on a rotating schedule

  • Maintain an open line of communication with the I&E Reliability and I&E Continuous Improvement Team

  • Lead and oversee buffer contractor workforce

  • Employ good cost control awareness and discipline and maintaining budgets

  • Ensure supervisors are forecasting weekly available work hours to planning department

  • May be asked to work on special projects as required

  • All other duties as assigned

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline is preferred, associates degree and or equivalent work experience will be considered

  • Familiarity with related industrial electrical codes and standards is required

  • 7-10 years of I&E Maintenance experience in the petrochemical or related industry experience

  • Minimum of 3 years I&E Leadership experience with direct reports within the petrochemical or related industry preferred

  • Familiarity with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP)

  • Knowledge regarding Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, especially as they relate to a successful Mechanical Integrity (MI) program

  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining SIS (safety instrumented systems)

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including, but not limited to: NFPA 70, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, ANSI/NETA MTS, and ANSI S84

  • Experience with process analyzers and CEMS is a plus

  • Willing to work extended workdays, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Availability on off hours and ability to respond to a call-out if requested

  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervision, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rules

  • Communicate and establish safety policies and procedures for E&I team

  • Possess a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards

  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration)

  • Formal leadership training is desired with some form of emotional intelligence

  • Experience in electrical power systems

  • Expert knowledge of instrumentation and control valves

  • Knowledge of DCS and control systems is preferred

  • Temperament to coach and develop subordinates

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. (CMMS) such as Oracle or SAP is required

  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials and Senior Management

  • Ability to read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations, safety rules and procedure manuals

  • Ability to read and evaluate P&ID’s, schematics, single line diagrams, drawings and instrument specifications

  • Some form of root cause analysis and or analytical troubleshooting is preferred

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Must be willing to work in protected areas and at heights

  • Ability to wear a respirator
