Supply Chain is a critical enabler for Shell to achieve its ambition to become the World Class Investment Case. The Manage Supply Chain (MSC) Team is the Global Centre of Excellence supporting the delivery of a competitively differentiated inbound Supply Chain for Shell. The group works across Lines of Business: Upstream, Integrated Gas/New Energies, and Downstream operated and non-operated ventures. Being responsible for delivery of Supply Chain strategies and solutions, including innovations and digitalization, and drive aspirational targets of the company. The challenge is to catch up with- or even beat leading supply chains like Technology (Amazon, Uber), Automotive (BMW) and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (Unilever).

What’s the role?
Leading a team of 7 senior category & procurement professionals, this role looks holistically at major spend areas, to strike & manage the best deals with global suppliers, provide strong support to frontlines and drive collaboration between Technical and Commercial teams enabling fit-for-purpose specifications.
The key objective is to develop and implement the best category and contracting strategies and deals in compliance with the global MSC Category strategy, the Group and local Standards, based on price, demand, specifications, linked to business requirements and market insights and impacting the bottom-line. Success in this role requires rigorous SC optimization , supplier collaboration, innovation, external benchmarking and "should cost" modeling. Category Managers form inclusive, collaborative, cross-functional communities with frontline teams, and suppliers.
Develop, execute and manage highly effective, collaborative and company-wide category strategies to accelerate impactful business partnerships across all MSC categories in Assets and Projects
Develop MSC Category Excellence solutions and deployment approaches and, in collaboration with Assets/Projects, develop value opportunity map and implementation plan
Develop clear and effective category plans for all spend areas within the MSC scope and align them with Asset Gap Closure Plan and Group Standards requirements.
Demonstrate leadership in supplier relationship management to ensure business and strategic objectives are met and develop and maintain a best-in-class network of innovative partners that drives value and maximizes their service levels.
Identify and qualify potential new partners to ensure best in class cost, service delivery, operational excellence and service levels.

What we need from you
We are looking for a proven C&P leader who has managed a global team of category managers. You will have defined and implemented a multi-category strategy, ideally covering materials, warehousing, land/marine/aviation transport, and maintenance services. You will have formulated and implemented long-term global sourcing and procurement strategies for large organizations.
You will be a strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and business acumen. You will have a strong knowledge of best practices from other leading supply chain organisations and possession of market insights and trends to apply in creating a competitive supply chain of Shell.
Experience in formulating long term sourcing and procurement strategies at global and at an asset level that is fully aligned with- and enable the delivery of the business strategy
Strategic thinking, strong commercial mindset and business acumen, preferably gained via ‘hands-on’ CP roles/ front-line experience or Asset commercial/New Business Development experience
Mastery skill in Category Management and Contracting Process
Experience in 2 or more following categories within the scope (materials, maintenance, turnaround, warehouse, and logistics)
External knowledge of best practices from other Oil & Gas majors and/or other industries, possess strong market insights and trends to apply in creating a competitive supply chain for Shell
Skilful in working in a virtual environment and able to leverage stakeholders using multiple forms of communication effectively (verbal, written, virtual), form inclusive, collaborative, cross-functional communities (business partners, category teams, CP frontline teams and suppliers) that co-create solutions in support of our CP aspiration to “deliver the world’s most competitive supply chains”
