Position Summary

Provides support to control and ancillary systems affiliated with generation, transmission, and distribution of energy. Manage and maintain the physical layer of our IT infrastructure to best practice standards ensuring reliability, resiliency, and long term operational sustainability. Operate and support the physical tape backup, mainframe print, and payroll check printing. Collaborate with users and technical teams to support incident resolution, systems monitoring, and problem analysis.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Technical Support - Design, code, test and integrate software and hardware for the Electric Energy Management System Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (EMS/SCADA) systems using input and direction from management.

  • User Support - Gather and document user requirements and work with the EMS/SCADA team to ensure requirements are met. Provides basic contextual and technical information to users. Assist users in identifying difficult technical problems and devising solutions. Advise users on available approved technologies. Work with users to translate user requirements into technical solutions.

  • Problem Resolution - Assist in producing new and revised software enhancements for the EMS/SCADA and affiliated downstream systems. Investigate and resolve problems involving complex systems and/or networks of systems. Provide problem identification for production incidents. Identifies and implements solutions to production incidents. Identify and resolve production alerts. Provide support for systems testing and validation activities. Participate in and contributes to problem reviews.

  • Communications - Clearly and concisely communicates operational status whenever requested. Actively participates in regular status meetings. Prepare written status reports and responses to customer inquiries

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

  • At least one year of related experience.

  • Demonstrated strong business and technical acumen.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and effectively apply learning.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
