Thermo Fisher Scientific Senior Maintenance Technician (3rd shift Fri-Mon) in Grand Island, New York

How will you make an impact?
Production line mechanic with controls experience and PLC knowledge. Trouble shoot, repair and maintain production lines and manufacturing equipment.
Hours: 3rd shift Friday- Monday. Will train on 1st Monday-Friday.
What will you do?
In this role you may complete some or all of the following duties:
Perform standard equipment repairs and maintenance under the guidance of senior staff.
Assist Manufacturing staff in monitoring operating equipment on a daily basis, troubleshooting problems and inefficiencies and recommending possible solutions.
Order, re-stock and maintain the inventory of spare parts, consumables and change tooling supplies.
Maintain other department equipment as needed.
Assist in maintaining required departmental records and documentation according to Company SOP's and the requirements of external parties.
Assist in documenting daily facilities and manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance.
May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
How will you get here?
Associates degree in electromechanical technology OR 10 years of experience in a maintenance role focused on automation
Requires at least 5 years of Allen Bradley controls experience with emphasis on PLCs and Servos
Good written and verbal communication skills, customer service and mechanical/electrical skills.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Works in a lab, manufacturing, and/or warehouse environment. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 40 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Occasional periods of high noise level, which requires hearing protection, may exist. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.
