Eaton Corporation Materials Manager in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Eaton’s Fluid and Motion Control Systems division, a part of our Industrial sector, is currently seeking a Materials Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Grand Rapids, MI facility.
The Materials Manager is responsible for managing key materials related functions such as materials planning, scheduling, logistics, and ordering activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products. In this role, you will train and educate direct reports on the use of various business systems, varieties of reports and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.

You will manage current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier, as well as the entire logistics process, from receipt of material through shipment to the end Customer
You will ensure correct planning parameters are utilized in order execution systems (such as MFGPro) to ensure proper order generation
You will drive continuous improvement to achieve world class inventory targets while supporting on time delivery to Customer requirements
You will analyze and manages aggregate inventory levels in relation to customer requirements to meet profit and inventory targets and goals
You will arrange for the sale of scrap, obsolete, surplus materials and by-products in order to minimize excess material
You will evaluate operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
You will coordinate with central Corporate Supply Chain Function to provide data and participate in teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton Corp.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in materials management and/or supply chain
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI, will be considered.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Full knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
Thorough understanding of Materials Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control
Prior professional and supervisory/managerial experience
Experience implementing/leading SIOP processes
Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
Technical knowledge of forecasting techniques, bill of material structuring and scheduling execution
