Silgan Assembly Associate in Grandview, Missouri


Assembly Associate provides support to keep assembly equipment and auto packers running and producing good quality parts in an effort to meet daily production goals. This positions loads, unloads and moves material within the assembly department while maintaining their area and equipment cleanliness. Pay starts at $12.35 per hour plus shift differential (see below). Position is also eligible for a quarterly bonus and 401k matching up to 5%. All shifts are available, days off vary.

Shift differential:

  • 1st shift 7:00am - 3:00pm

  • 2nd shift 3:00pm - 11:00pm increases $1.00 per hour

  • 3rd shift 11:00pm - 7:00am increases $.60 per hour

  • Saturday and Sunday increases $1.00 per hour, too

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Unjam parts and recycle assembly machines and auto packers (robots).

  • Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.

  • Open containers.

  • Load and unload materials by hand onto or from pallets, boxes, bins and shelves.

  • Fill hoppers, bins, feeders and elevators as necessary.

  • Maintain acceptable visual quality level of all parts produced.

  • Sort, audit, and check parts for grease, damage, missing components, proper tube length, etc.

  • Read work orders, test manuals and performance specifications to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.

  • Pack product as needed.

  • Weigh-count boxed production and check orders for completion.

  • Close, tape, and label boxes of finished product.

  • Make bags and break down boxes.

  • Maintain housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness of assigned area.

  • Train temporary or new employees.

  • Responsible for performing work at or above standard rate.

  • Responsible for throwing scrap and trash in proper containers.

  • Must follow all Silgan Dispensing work rules and policies.

Job Requirements:


  • GED or equivalent

  • One to three months related experience and/or training
