Job Description

The mission of the Office of Research Policy and Training (RPT) is to evaluate and manage the development, maintenance and delivery of Northwell Health research policies and centralized research training programs and learning opportunities to meet regulatory, industry, and institutional standards and requirements and align with Northwell Health and the research enterprise’s goals and business needs.

In order to meet regulatory, industry, and institutional standards and policies the Coordinator, Research Policy and Training will collaborate with the various research support offices and content experts to:

  1. Coordinate and assist in the development and implementation of centralized research training programs throughout Northwell Health.

  2. Assist with Northwell Health research policy initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinates centralized research training programs for the research enterprise, such as lectures, workshops, webinars, e-learning, train-the-trainer programs, and software simulations.

  2. Assists in the development of training curriculums, goals and objectives, and training materials appropriate for different target audiences (i.e. principal investigators, residents, research nurses, research coordinators) using various computer softwares and programs.

  3. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Office of Research Policy and Training including, but not limited to, scheduling, advertising, registration, evaluation management, event planning, preparing meeting materials and agendas, maintaining training records and certification information, and other administrative tasks as required.

  4. Collaborates with the health system education offices, such as the Center for Learning and Innovation and the Continuing Medical Education Office to manage existing and new research training programs and ensure appropriate application and reporting requirements are met.

  5. Performs literature reviews in support of policy and training development to meet regulatory, industry, and institutional standards.

  6. Disseminates and communicates research training and policy information to the research enterprise of Northwell Health as appropriate.

  7. Performs related duties, as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Learning/Education, Communications, Research Administration, Science, or related field required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching adult learners or instructional experience required. Working knowledge of learning technologies, learning management systems, and principles and practices of adult learning, preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Illustrator.

  • Excellent skills required for: presentation/public speaking, presenting technical Information, written and verbal communication, training management, and project management.

  • Willingness to travel to multiple sites within Northwell Health
