Job Description

Summary:

Performs instrumentation work at a proficient level, troubleshooting and recommending preventive action, and assisting in the support of the overall calibration program.

Essential Functions:

Performs preventative maintenance and calibrations on various systems, components, and equipment.

Documents conditions, actions, procedures and results of work, tests or inspections performed as required by Company policies and procedures.

Develops and maintains PMs governing calibrations of specific instruments.

Develops and maintains SOPs for instrument calibrations. Monitors status of calibration activities for business units and site services. Reviews calibration records for completeness and compliance with SOPs and regulations.

Troubleshoots operational problems in order to identify appropriate corrective action.

Performs repairs on equipment from written instructions, sketches, plans, diagrams, oral descriptions or self determined job requirements based on observed conditions.

Revises schematics and blueprints to reflect any modifications to equipment or systems.

Maintains and upgrades technical and nontechnical skills through participation in company and outside training programs.

Complies with department work schedules, shifts, call-ins; stand by, department coverage and overtime.

Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Associates degree preferred with emphasis in Electronics or Industrial Technology.

Experience:

Four years industrial experience in Instrumentation or Electronics and expereince in an FDA regulated industry is preferred.

Equivalency :

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 50-100 pound, occasionally more; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
