Eaton Corporation Designer - Research and Design in Greenwood, South Carolina
Electrical Low Voltage Busway Facility has an opening for a Designer in our Research and Development Department. This position will be located in Greenwood, SC.
The Designer will be responsible for creating detailed designs of components, assemblies, bills of material, and associated drawings for the manufacturing of electromechanical products. They will also be responsible for aiding in the design, assembly, testing, verification, and other maintenance-of-line activities for new product development. They will do this with some guidance from engineering, sales and marketing teams.

In this role you will:
Support field sales efforts by providing technical assistance to our customers, sales, and Field Engineering Services relative to complex product design/operation, system operation and/or output, electrical schematics, diagrams, sketches, one-lines, etc. as well as supporting engineering interpretations of a specific general order or customer design.
Identify improvements to existing products with input from sales, marketing, manufacturing and customers
Coordinate and support product prototype builds and aid in the implementation of verification test plans (electrical, thermal, and mechanical).
Prepare and/or process change management requests as required.
Perform other related activities and special projects as assigned.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or an associate’s degree in a manufacturing discipline such as Industrial Electronics or Engineering Design Technology, coupled with 4 years of experience.
Minimum 4 years of applicable work experience. Applicable areas include: drawing/drafting, electromechanical or mechanical design.
Experience or knowledge in drafting principles (CAD), physics, elements of electricity and mechanics.
No relocation, candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of the Greenwood, SC facility.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without any company sponsorship.
1-3 years of drafting experience
Previous experience in a Research and Development role or capacity
- Must be able to travel as necessary to effectively interface with customers and other required contacts, to work at various outside/inside site locations, and to manage or participate in company-related projects, activities, or other job-related assignments.
