What is the opportunity?
As part of a small team of high calibre project managers within Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) you will lead a broad range of strategic new initiatives varying in size, scope and duration.

As member of the Strategic Planning & Operations organization within OAL you will initially manage multiple smaller projects relating to the Cloud. Work may include coordinating the testing of weekly and monthly upgrades; managing the development, testing and releases of monthly new functionality; or collaborating on large projects by leading aspects of solution development, testing and their releases. In addition, you will be asked to contribute to Agile development and project management process and reporting improvements.
You will be part of a global multi-cultural team focused on delivering high quality projects on time and within scope. The project work is non-routine, complex and fast paced involving the application of analytical thinking and broad business skills.
While the organization is global your role will be based in Guadalajara. This OAL hub has been constructed with an entrepreneurial spirit that promotes an energetic and creative environment.
PM job role and responsibilities
The PM role in Oracle Application Lab (OAL) is a hybrid of a classic waterfall Project Manager role and that of a Scrum master or Release Train Engineer and Program Manager depending on your level of experience.
You would be assigned to one or more projects with varying scope, complexity and duration. The projects are strategic in nature and are defined in alignment with corporate level technical and business priorities. The role and its related responsibilities will vary according to your level and the assignment.
The scope of work can include any of or a combination of the following:
SaaS Upgrade Regression Testing of weekly and monthly patch bundles and quarterly upgrades
Monthly and Quarterly releases of Bug fixes, and Enhancement Requests.
Medium size new initiatives (3-6 months)
Long term corporate strategic projects (9 month or more)
Scrum Master for a single/multiple teams
Program Manager or Release Train Engineer for a single team
Agile/scrum and project management processes: Proactive lead or contribute to initiatives to enhance process and standards.Provide guidance and mentoring to others.
The role is fluid which allows for continuous learning and contributes to an incremental solid knowledge base and career progression as appropriate.
What you need to succeed
Bachelors’ degree (Business, IT). 5 years of experience relevant to this position including: consulting and project field experience.
A minimum of 3 years in project management using a Waterfall and/or an Agile approach. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles and expertise with Project Management methodology. Strong communication skills. Excellent command of English.
Ability to work virtually. Self motivated and comfortable working in a matrix reporting structure with minimal supervision.
Analytic skills. Ability to recognize risks, resources conflicts, or other issues and develop contingency plan or escalate to obtain help or visibility to ensure that the project remains on track to meet customer needs. Attention to detail and ability to work through complex puzzles.
Ability to add value and improve project delivery effectiveness regardless of the nature of your assignment. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes with a drive for process improvements and efficiency.
Ability to adapt within in a fast paced and frequently changing work environment.
Knowledge of Jira.
Business Intelligence reporting knowledge.
Master degree (Business or IT).
Understands aspects of Oracle’s business.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like.
Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project specifications, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically 5 years of project management, product design or related experience needed.
