DynCorp International LLC. Painter/ Preservation Specialist in Guam
The Painter/ Preservation Specialist coats surfaces of motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and trucks with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from vehicle, using liquid paint remover and scraper, smooths surface with sandpaper and steel wool.
Removes or abrades existing paint finish by sandblasting, scraping, sanding or chemical paint removing methods.
Treats corrosion on ferrous and non-ferrous metals by grinding, wire brushing, or chemical acid treatment as is appropriate.
Applies metal conditioners and pretreatment washes.
Applies body filler to holed or depressed areas and to smooth these filled areas to compliment the surface contour.
Applies complete finishing schemes, as specified, using pneumatic or airless spraying equipment or by brush if appropriate.
Applies lettering and identifying insignia and performs maintenance and repair procedures to all equipment used during the performance of these duties.
Identifies correct thinners with paints for different applications.
May paint insignia, letters or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils.
Perform other duties as requested
Knowledge & Skills
Must have a basic knowledge of health hazards associated in this type of work and of established safety precautions.
Must be able to read and understand technical data and to identify canned paint and material products by labels.
Must have experience in corrosion removal and repainting procedures ad be able to correctly use any associated equipment.
Must have knowledge of proper handling, storage and disposal of Hazardous Material
Must use proper PPE
Must have knowledge and observe Environmental Standards
These are SCA jobs and will vary accordingly by assignment within and across contracts.
