How will you make an impact?

Join our team creating the next generation of genomic technologies for the Ion Torrent sequencing and sample preparation platforms. When you’re part of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll do important work, like helping customers in finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safe. What will you do?

  • Design and conduct laboratory experiments for developing new products in next generation sequencing and sample preparation workflows.

  • Work within cross-functional new-product introduction teams to drive feasibility, development, and verification and validation of complex genomic technologies.

  • Development and transfer sustainable and scalable manufacturing and quality control processes to a production environment.

  • Actively participate in meetings and assist other project teams to resolve technical/operational issues and/or provide support.

How will you get here?

Education

Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Genetics, or a related discipline and 2 plus years of experience is required. Alternately, a Bachelor’s degree with 4 plus years of experience is acceptable. Next-generation sequencing experience is strongly preferred. Prior industrial experience is desirable.

Experience

  • Experience in new product development and commercialization.

  • Extensive experience in laboratory molecular biology, biochemistry, next generation sequencing, or similar field.

  • Experience in next generation sequencing, qPCR, digital PCR, microarrays, and laboratory automation.

  • Familiarity with bioinformatics, analysis of high-content data sets, and statistical principlesExample 3
