The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for financial analysis supporting the global Mercer Services Technology organization. The role will manage the consolidated forecast, budget and reporting processes, while also serving as important liaison between FP&A finance colleagues around the globe. A key responsibility of the role will be to help establish and manage the cost accounting mechanisms to manage both cost transfers (including transfer pricing concerns) and to measure productivity / efficiency in the operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Planning

Manage and evaluate the forecasting, budgeting and strategic planning activities for Mercer Services in coordination with the global CIOs

Provide financial planning, reporting and analytics support to business partners to help achieve financial and operational objectives while ensuring that the vision aligns with the firm’s overall objectives

Define a process to ensure transparency of reporting to LOBs/ Countries

Proactively suggest and implement changes to streamline processes and improve effectiveness of support that Finance provides to CIOs and Country/LOBs

Prepare expense and headcount analysis as well as performing ad hoc analysis as requested

Monitor budget variances, analyze trends, to spotlight changes in the forecast and related expense implications

Work with peers across the globe and will have exposure to senior business and Finance leaders

Ensure that all policies and procedures are met to the highest standard and that high-quality processes and controls exist throughout the operation Cost Accounting / Productivity Tracking

Participate in the establishment of an automated cost tracking process to support expense analytics and cost distribute to LOBs / Countries purchasing services from Mercer Services

In partnership with controllers, ensure appropriate transfer pricing arrangements are in place and that billing is both accurate and timely In partnership with the business, define productivity and efficiency metrics. Support the calculation and reporting of such metrics.

Management / Operational Support

Provide operational and financial support related to business management issues:

o Real Estate

o Legal/ Compliance concerns

o Business case reviews (e.g. IT, Offshoring)

o Governance support

Project Management

Partner with Finance, Controllers and Corporate IT to actively participate in projects and analyses; work to achieve globally consistent approach to financial analytics and processes

Streamline financial activities and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy in reporting Communicate, support and participate in the creation and implementation of regional/global financial and operational initiatives

Required qualifications and skills

Exceptional skills in financial modelling to execute the forecast, financial planning and reporting processes The candidate must have a drive to automate and systemize processes as the role will require transition from manual to systemic processes working within Mercer’s financial infrastructure. Proficiency in cost accounting and associated metrics reporting Ability to identify and break down complex issues and resolve in a simplistic manner using available resources, information, knowledge of business Results-focused, analytical approach with a strong customer / client service ethos. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, manage and influence team members and senior stakeholders. Ability to build relationships with business leaders and influence and advise key decisions. Strong project management skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Self-motivator with the ability to function in a fast pace environment Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills Knowledge with financial systems (Oracle, Hyperion, Essbase) a plus QualificationsEducation:

Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting Eligibility:

Minimum 8 years of relevant accounting or financial analysis role Minimum 12 months experience as Team Manager/Process Manager Should have at least “Meets Expectation” or equivalent rating in last appraisal Should not be under any Performance Improvement Plan, or had any official Disciplinary action within the last 3 months
