The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and execute various DtV/VAVE cost out projects related to Eaton’s Electrical-Electronics products as part Direct Material Productivity (DMP) team. This involves close collaboration with Global Business Organization & Product divisions to generate cost out opportunities. The applicant will be responsible for working on various aspects of Direct Material Productivity with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant product focused cost out opportunities as well as creating a robust pipeline of executable cost out projects. The applicant should have capability to perform product teardown,
Execute the enterprise wide strategic projects for product focused cost out, majority of the product content is Electronics Component (Active, Passive off the shelf & custom components), EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services), PCB & PCBA (Printed Circuit Boards & Assemblies) working along with Global business leaders and DtV team.
Execute the strategic action plan for DtV (Design to Value) to achieve measurable outputs in terms of cost out goals.
Generate new ideas that are technically and commercially viable to reduce overall cost of the products and be competitive in the market.
Conduct product teardowns, testing, competitor benchmarking, idea generation events, idea evaluation with B&E ratio calculations.
Complete project scope defining and validating activities like material spend analysis, profit margin analysis, product cost analysis, tail spend analysis etc. in detail.
Work with Component CoE organization to build Part Libraries for Electronic components in Enovia
Leverage DFSS methodology to identify technical risks at an early stage of product development and develop robust product that meets customer requirements and specification
Fosters New patents/disclosures while working on New Product development, VAVE and problem-solving projects
Minimum education for this position is a Bachelor / Masters in Electronics / Electronics & Communication, with demonstrated experience in technical engineering organization.
6-8 years of experience with multinational engineering organization
Sound knowledge of Electronics Components (Active, Passive & custom parts) & their applications, PCB manufacturing and assembly
Hands on experience of Product development life cycle on multiple projects including requirements, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification
Hands on experience on CAM tools like CAM350, Gerber view, Valor etc.
Understand the interpret the PCB and PCBA requirements based on the available Gerbers, fabrication, assembly notes.
Must possess knowledge of the PCB material, Soldermask materials, PCB solder finish methods (ENIG, HASL, OSP etc), conformal coating and methodologies, Panelization, coupons, Layer stackup, prepreg, core materials, Gerber files, fabrication drawings, drills, routes, tooling holes, fiducials, Depanelization methodologies v-Socre, mouse Bites, etc.
Sound knowledge of the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Reflow, wave and hand soldering methodologies
Knowledge of IPC7351, IPC6011/12, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610
Sound knowledge on electronic component fabrication technology and their performance curve.
Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Good analytical skills, work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.\
