Project manages diverse portfolio of corporate event types ( seminars, executive roundtables, sponsorships) with specific teams mapped as event type specialists. Drives alignment of messaging and overall strategy; helps to ensure that the right event is delivered to the right audience at the right time. Drives creative thought process and continuous evaluation and refinement of Oracle*s event marketing portfolio. Provides management with reports and analysis on program efficacy for future program selection and budget allocation. Provides effective performance management: set clear goals for all staff, provide regular feedback on performance and conduct a formal appraisal at the conclusion of the fiscal year. Manage the activities of the staff according to overall marketing strategies and budgets. Implement organizational changes in line with changing business and market.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced business skills in area of event production and design. 8 years relevant work experience. Software business management experience. Marketing experience in the IT industry. Proven ability to manage budget, approval processes, resource allocations in terms of both people and money. Professional credentials in Marketing, Academic credentials desirable.

The Oracle Startup team is looking for a proven Manager, Marketing & Events who is creative, collaborative, and has a passion for creating and executing exciting and engaging events. We are looking for an innovative thinker with experience in developing events targeting startups, venture capital funds and private equity firms. The Manager, Marketing & Events willorganize and ensure the smooth operation of key marketing events, from planning and budgeting to implementation and reporting. This includes third-party and Oracle-led events, intimate networking receptions, meetups, co-sponsored roadshow events and major trade shows that generate leads/applications for our startup programs globally.

The ideal candidate for the Manager, Marketing & Events role must exhibit a highly professional demeanor, be able to manage across lines of business, cultures and geographies, and able to synthesize complex concepts and net out large amounts of detail into a few key highlights.

Communication skills, both verbal and written, must be exemplary. Information technology industry experience and experience working with or for a startup is critical. Experience in working with senior-level executives is a plus.

You will work for the global marketing and communications team while supporting other teams within the same line of business. Working in a global cross-functional team environment is critical for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Set priorities in the implementation and creation of events that support the overall business, program goals & objectives

Research and Identify events, meetups and new partners in our key markets.

Negotiate with 3 rdparty vendors for Oracle Startup Ecosystem presence at events that support our ecosystem goals and objectives.

Work with internal and external creative resources to create assets: web content, marketing campaign assets, emails, ads, graphics, webinars, videos, power point for presentations etc.

Secure and prepare Oracle speakers to present at events (assist them with presentation creation and practice presentation sessions).

Develop and deliver breakthrough ideas and innovative event activities and marketing tactics that attract new startup applications for our programs

Create copy, ppt presentations and other marketing collateral as needed

Opportunity to write blogs and contribute to thought leadership efforts for the program

Should be comfortable (or willing to learn) using social media as a communications channel

Communicate effectively, on a regularly scheduled cadence, to ensure stakeholder alignment.

Preferred Qualifications

5 years in an event strategy/planning role, preferably in the areas of event marketing, field marketing, and/or channel marketing.

Track record of creating exceptional events

An entrepreneurial driven individual with a demonstrable track record in working with startups, accelerators, entrepreneurs.

Strong understanding of communications strategy, marketing and branding principles

Proactive, problem-solving and organizational skills

Strong collaborative and relationship-building skills

Ability to stay ahead of trends and best practices for event planning, marketing and technology

Expertise in managing projects across various, globally distributed teams

Experience working across departments, with leadership, and with external agencies

You will be execution focused, organized and be able to deliver to tight deadlines.
