Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Rework conventional methodology to develop new analytical approaches when an issue does not fit customary frameworks. Identify & creatively use conventional and non-conventional data sources independently. Translate high-level business needs into appropriate analysis. Articulate how the impact of research connects to business priorities. Present recommendations to executive management and business partners; including implications. Lead in-depth efforts in applying, validating, and implementing predictive models. Proactively stay abreast of industry, developments, changing trends and jurisdictional issues. Direct industry analysis and benchmarking studies. Adjust strategy as appropriate to anticipate, respond to, and manage trends. Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners. Design analysis to be actionable. Partner with peers across the company to ensure consistency and alignment where appropriate.

Job Summary:

Leads a small portfolio of advanced analytics projects. Support the development of research staff members. Lead discussions with Sr. Management and Business Partners on business oriented solutions. Review analyses and provide direction and insight. May be responsible for direct management, leadership and guidance of staff and/or as an individual contributor, provides technical leadership to team providing technical guidance (research, modeling and analysis) and direct leadership of a portion or portions of projects. Directly manage staff for large complex projects and/or direct complex statistical, operational or technical problems. Utilizes business knowledge and leverages advanced technical skills to creatively solve business problems. Directly solve complex statistical, operational or technical problems. Help create analytical strategy.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

Advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, business, actuarial science, computer science or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant work experience or Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant work experience preferred. Relevant work experience in directing and performing research and/or advanced analytic work (e.g. predictive modeling) in the insurance industry preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree with 10 years experience or Bachelor's non STEM degree with 12 years experience required.
