Aetna is looking for an experienced finance professional with strong communication and project management skills to lead a team of individuals in the preparation and filing of Aetnas statutory financial statements.

Fundamental Components:

Job responsibilities include the review and approval of various statutory deliverables, including quarterly and annual statements, supplementary filings to the states or the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and audited financial statements.

The candidate would be expected to review analysis on entity financials to understand out-of-trend movements and underlying business results.

The candidate will be expected to provide statutory accounting guidance to the entities preparers and reviewers, and take the lead on team-wide process improvements.

The candidate will also be responsible for fulfilling requests and answering questions from state examiners, external auditors, and internal auditors.


The ideal candidate would have 6 or more years of relevant statutory accounting, reporting, or auditing experience, preferably for health insurance companies, and would be experienced in interacting with external auditors or examiners. The ideal candidate would also have a track record in leading process improvements.


The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.


Finance/Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is desired

Finance/Certified Management Accountant is desired

Audit/Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is desired
