Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The Business Development Lead, Travelers Marketplace is accountable for selling, servicing and marketing all aspects of a direct-to-carrier business model for personal lines property and casualty products and understanding key performance metrics that make an account desirable and/or what areas to improve deal structure and terms. This job requires a steady consistent external sales demeanor and the ability to gain all data needed to move from prospect to formal proposal status. This role will work to identify new or expanded opportunities within assignment.

Lead the effort in defining the go-to-market strategy for our Travelers Marketplace with a specific focus on the Strategic Publisher accounts to which we would deploy our insurance choice model ad platform. As noted, this focus will require the incumbent to become an expert in ad platform technology, become articulate in presenting the Travelers Marketplace value proposition, and develop an ability to be agile in the customization of our ad platform solution to align with the needs of these strategic Publishers.

Works collaboratively with business development teams within the National Markets team to identify new opportunities to deploy Travelers Marketplace across existing relationships, most significantly within Direct Markets.

Job Summary:

Please Note: Nationwide opportunity! The preferred location for this is opportunity Hartford, however, the position can be based in other U.S. locations. Travel required.

Under general supervision, the Client Development Lead for Travelers Marketplace , identifies, qualifies and negotiates deal terms for potential Travelers Marketplace strategic publisher partnerships and under general direction manages a complex and varied group of programs and implements strategies to produce fee income and where appropriate, Travelers written premium.

The qualified candidate will have expertise in ad platform technology , become articulate in presenting the Travelers Marketplace value proposition, and develop an ability to be agile in the customization of our ad platform solution to align with the needs of these strategic publishers.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ten years of personal lines P&C experience with a demonstrated working knowledge of the business models specific to Direct-to-Consumer and Affinity businesses. Thorough knowledgeable/experience in selling digital marketing, ad platform technology, choice model offerings, and/or insurance comparative rater technology;

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

Bachelor degree strongly preferred Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred Supervisory experience preferred. Affinity program and experience managing national agent broker distributors preferred.

Industry/Business Knowledge Exhibits a thorough understanding of global insurance trends, industry/ customer based trends and enterprise wide business and financial drivers that affect the region and local office. Effectively applies this knowledge to manage the Business Development Managers / Directors. Strong understanding of competitor capabilities and strategies. Product Knowledge Manages to organizational and regulatory rules, policies and procedures; also provides feedback to higher levels of management when changes are needed. Maintains a thorough knowledge of enterprise wide products and services

6 years of relevant business development, sales, or other financial services experience.
