Marsh Risk Consulting’s Casualty Consulting Practice bring experienced, credentialed experts to the table to help improve workplace health and safety practices, streamline claims and vendor management practices, and leverage sophisticated analytic tools to reduce workers’ compensation claims and liability costs. Position Summary: We are looking for a Complex Liability Claims Consultant to provide risk management solutions to meet client needs. This consultant will implement strategic plans to optimize clients’ insurance recovery for mass tort and other potentially high dollar value claims. This requires an understanding of complicated insurance programs for corporate clients, industry specific knowledge as well as knowledge of the range of Marsh resources. Responsibilities Include: Provides analysis and recommendations relative to insurance coverage for clients facing complex liabilities. Determines the adequacy of cost share agreements and evaluate buyout offers. Negotiates the resolution of insurance coverage and loss allocation issues on behalf of clients. Understands project budgets and communicate with project managers to ensure clients’ goals are achieved while maintaining target profitability. Responsible for cross-selling Marsh Risk Consulting Claims opportunities Complies with company policy and procedures for timekeeping, expense reporting and billing. Client Service: Directs analysis of client needs, develops project outlines, and recommends suitable approaches or options to consider. Uses facilitative and diagnostic skills to assist clients in the articulation of complex problems. Actively uncovers concerns or issues that may be unclear to the client. Develops the project requirements and work plans within a practice or technical area. Matches products and services in his/her own specialty to client’s key needs. Develops or uses systems to organize and track information. Enhances the creativity and effectiveness of materials that reflect an understanding of more complex client, project and technical issues. Helps clients and other team members by serving as a resource on products and services in his/her own specialty area. Respect and maintain client confidentiality. Communications: Develops and effectively delivers complex written and oral communications, such as proposals, technical concepts and deliverables. Creates templates or other written materials to be utilized by other consulting colleagues. Client Development: Participates in business development activities (e.g. seminars, mailings, etc.). Directs, performs, or reviews research (e.g. reviews annual report, financial data, benchmarking, etc) for business development purposes. Utilize and develop spheres of influence to develop new and expanded business. At least 4-6 years of relevant experience at a law firm, insurer, or in corporate risk management Experience in long tail and emerging coverage issues a plus Bachelor degree or equivalent Licensing according to company policy or applicable law. Perform and direct advanced research and analysis. Identify problems and apply solutions. Organization and Resource (People, projects, time) Management. Excellent Communications (Oral and Written). Proficient in company sanctioned software and systems, as well as relevant use of Internet. Attention to detail. Proficient in English language (speaking, reading and writing).
