Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Improves business results through data-driven, business problem solving by (1) determining appropriate business information to analyze, including industry practices; (2) assembling, synthesizing, and analyzing information; (3) drawing conclusions and developing hypotheses; and (4) validating, socializing, and implementing solutions Applies understanding of business / insurance processes and economics to drive fact-based decision making (expense management, revenue and margin growth, cost / benefit analyses) Designs solutions that address impediments to effective and efficient business performance; introduces changes in business processes, interactions, underwriting, products, and/or organizational behaviors. Operates as Business Owner role for projects/functions in own domain, actively engaged in successful execution, design, and delivery of business initiatives and capabilities, and active management of key business processes and capability SLAs and KPIs Collaborates cross-functionally with Product Management, Sales, SP&E, IT, UW, Operations, Analytics, Information Management, and others to socialize and ensure buy-in on own work, and influence work owned by others Focus on one or more of the following areas-Process, User Experience, 3rd Party Data PROCESS Identify, evaluate, and propose opportunities in current state business model Design and deliver effective and efficient target state solutions and business processes Assess financial impact, develop financial proforma and CBA to quantify the impact of change Partner to deliver business results (Distribution, Underwriting, Operations, HR, Finance, Product, etc.) Define and monitor external facing performance metrics that will position the business favorably with the markets Clearly articulate business objectives, hypothesis, design of market tests, monitoring, and benefit realization Define and work towards long-term portfolio strategy while continuously improving the business USER EXPERIENCE Serves as the key point of accountability for digital and analogue experience/interaction design efforts and decisions within Small Commercial Regularly engages with agents/employees/end-users to understand their needs, pain points, and other marketplace offerings Develops and/or influences communications to agents and field to help drive behavioral change and effectively achieve business goals. Applies deep understanding of Agent and Underwriting workflows, processes, and mindsets to Process Interaction Design and Change Management, while aligning with business goals and strategies Collaborates with User Experience designers to create and evolve digital interactions that account for user needs and context, while aligning with business goals and strategies Balances user-centered design principles, experience considerations, and business goals & strategies to develop optimal business solutions 3RD PARTY DATA Applies mathematical reasoning to solve critical business problems related to 2nd and 3rd Party Data Identifies data accuracy opportunities through hands on data and business process analysis Improves accuracy of data by identifying and deploying new and existing 3PD sources as well as recommending solutions to business processes Performs in a Business lead capacity for Exposure oriented 3PD evaluation and analysis; with a particular focus on Property Characteristics Identifies business opportunity, cost benefit analysis, and execution opportunities to more accurately and seamlessly improve the identification of exposure characteristics of a risk with 3PD sources Partners across BI functions, analyze / model how best to order, evaluate, and utilize exposure oriented 3PD Creates new and advanced risk evaluation and pricing data elements Clearly presents findings and translate analysis into actionable business insights Asks appropriate and probing questions to understand business issues and opportunities Perform other duties as assigned.

The Business Model & Third Party Data group is responsible for partnering with executive leadership to develop, prioritize, and execute initiatives that enhances top line growth and improves business efficiencies. The team executes the initiatives by partnering with the key stakeholders across Business Units and Functions, and by utilizing business evaluation frameworks, operational excellence methodologies, financial assessments, execution models, and customer & agent experience. The team acts as change agents and transformation leaders who execute and deliver the committed corporate goals and results. This role will act as a business owner with accountability for managing and improving a portfolio of business processes across Small Commercial. This job does not manage others This job works under General Direction: Establishes procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives in a broad area of work. Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:

Bachelor's degree in STEM preferred 5+ years property casualty insurance experience - Applied knowledge of insurance product lifecycle such as renewal, new business, endorsements, premium audit, billing, and claim Thorough knowledge of hands on quantitative analysis and business optimization Applied experience in Digital processes and capabilities such as eSign, Mobile, Web, Self-Service, Voice, Chat, etc. Very strong analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills Strong data analysis in SAS and/or SQL language
