Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads a matrix team of analysts in data exploration and analytics in support of business strategies.
Establishes and leads business teams to drive strategies and govern progress and outcomes of analytics work.
Uses understanding of Travelers business strategies to develop analytic strategies and project proposals; oversees implementation of those strategies.
Collaborates with Business Intelligence/ Data teams and related business teams.
Partners with other key leaders to build and evolve a test and learn capability for rapid prototyping and development of analytics.
Directs the construction of a variety of analyses including data mining, descriptive statistics and/or report development.
Ensures that required analysis is provided by team members, providing direction and insight.
Interprets data to recognize patterns and analyze trends, drawing business inferences and clearly articulating findings to target audience.
Directs the development of new approaches to business problems.
Directs the development and presentation of analyses and recommendations to targeted audiences.
Proactively stays abreast of data sources, identifies best internal and external data sources in response to business requests.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with business partners.
Partners with peers across the company to ensure consistency and alignment where appropriate. Identifies, recommends and implements analytic software/tool(s) for core team and lead training, utilization and optimization efforts.

Actuarial and Analytics, Business Analyst/Quality Assurance, Claim, Management Information, Technology
Look no further! CBIA has an exciting, interesting and dynamic opportunity to work with International and Senior Leadership. In this role, you will work directly with Senior Leadership by exploring data, delivering analytics and insights, and drawing business inferences that are used to inform International Claim business strategies and decisions. You will partner with our experts in Claim, International, Canada, and the UK, to build out the International claim data and analytics environment and deliver on our business partners vision.
The successful candidate embraces change and has significant influencing skills along with the knowledge to explore and profile data drawing business inferences, complete analysis and clearly articulate findings. This position performs accountabilities under limited supervision and does not lead others. It requires a candidate with a strong analytical mindset, problem solving skills, technical acumen, and the ability to logically maneuver through ambiguous business problems that may not have a clear solution. The successful candidate will be an excellent leader and team member, as this position requires significant partnership.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics) preferred.
5+ years working successfully with data analysis systems and tools such as SAS, SPSS Cognos etc. preferred.
Thorough knowledge of Descriptive Analytic practices and processes.
Thorough knowledge of Insurance products/concepts required.
Experience working on broad/business-wide projects and initiatives working directly with senior management preferred.
1+ year of management experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of the main features of the collection of data and the relationship of data elements to each other
Requires extended periods of computer use. Requires extended periods of sitting.
Bachelors degree or equivalent education or 6 years analytics experience. 5 years analytics experience required. Thorough knowledge of Insurance products/concepts required.
