Sr. Director, reporting into the Executive Director of Enterprise Analytics, will lead a team of 10+ Data Scientists and analysts in a fast-paced work environment. The candidate will be responsible for the successful development and delivery of analytics-based pricing solutions to better predict medical cost and revenue leveraging internal and external data. Possesses extensive experience in leading project teams with a varying mix of technical and business resources to create & implement model-based solutions. Accountable for business value creation, building and managing relationships with senior-level business partners and prioritization of overall team activities to meet delivery objectives and solution-area metrics (in conjunction with business partners, executive sponsors, and Data Science work stream leads).
Provides strategic leadership to business partners through analytics and machine learning/artificial intelligence techniques, and implements modeling solutions into day-to-day business processes across the Aetna enterprise to ensure downstream value creation.
Sets appropriate metrics for the pricing solution area, in conjunction with leadership and other executive project sponsors. Proactively suggests additional adjacent areas of focus and / or intervenes to redirect broader team activities on those areas that drive the solution area toward delivery of the most desirable outcomes for the Aetna enterprise.
Leads both technical and business resources to ensure timely and quality deliverables that meets expectations of cross-functional customers and executive sponsors.
Manages the design and application of statistical research and custom analysis of integrated healthcare and market data, interprets results, and makes recommendations based on analytical findings.
Leads recommendations on data collection methods, metrics definition, and analytical evaluation methods, in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Creates and evaluates the data needs of assigned projects and helps ensure the data integrity; assists with defining and validating processes for data cleansing, integration, and transformation.
Ensures the transformation of analyses into business / customer solutions, using a range of tools, including data visualization software (Tableau), PPT / in-person presentations, action plans, integration of solutions with other enterprise systems and /or process workflows, etc.
Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals.
Promotes a productive work environment by providing timely, specific and constructive performance feedback.
8+ yrs. of client-facing experience (internal or external), demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills and reliable executive presence.
8+ yrs. in a big data environment, modeling or actuarial science, and analytical tools.
Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking with ability to derive insight and recommendations from data.
Modeling/ actuarial/ strategy consulting background desirable.
Experience in pricing modeling in Property and Casualty, Financial services, Health insurance preferred.
Minimum of masters degree in computer science, statistics, actuarial sciences, engineering, or related quantitative discipline.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
