POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for category management sourcing execution within the Procurement Marketing and Media spend category. This will include category strategy development, RFP management, business case development, supplier negotiation, contract development, internal stakeholder communication and relationship management, and supplier risk management. The Marketing and Media category includes, but is not limited to, marketing, advertising, market research, print, public relations, and marketing technology.

Fundamental Components:

-Analyzes category spend to identify opportunities to reduce individual contract/sub-category spend utilizing all savings levers.

-Leads assigned projects by creating timelines, building contingency plans, executing corrective actions, communicating issues resolution, and identifying and utilizing key milestones, stakeholders, and resources needed to ensure timely and successful deal negotiations.

-Develops strategic plans for highly complex projects (typically from $5-15 million) and commodities to drive value for the category based on an understanding of the business units needs, the supply market, spend baseline and industry benchmarks.

-Effectively document, communicate and gain buy-in for established strategy.

-Analyzes information, including market and industry trends, along with advances in sourcing, make recommendations and present relevant data regarding Aetnas sourcing to senior level management.

-Directs financial modeling and analysis.

-Partners with Aetna business units to translate business objectives into sourcing strategies while rationalizing the supplier base.

-Develops and leads cross-functional teams, projects, processes and initiatives that improve operational and cost efficiency.

-Turns strategic direction into specific goals, deliverables and metrics.

-Works successfully with legal and business teams to ensure best solution for Aetna.

-Identifies regional and global sourcing opportunities, influence internal spend owners and drive to successful completion.

-Drafts complex agreements, Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) documentation (between $5M-15M) with minimal direction using traditional or e-sourcing applications

-Documents complex business requirements and translates them into deliverable or SLA based contracting models.

-Works with a wide range of professionals, lead distributed virtual teams, and coach individuals and teams as needed to meet business, operational and compliance needs.

-Researches and analyzes industry best practices and drives improvements to ensure that Aetnas sourcing processes are "best in class".

-Independently negotiates complex contractual terms and conditions in order to mitigate operational, compliance and contractual risk.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

-Minimum 3-7 years experience in Supply or Operations Management.

-Prior experience and leadership in aggressively cutting costs and strategic acquisition of products and services at a Fortune 500 company, or equivalent, while balancing operational, compliance and legal risks.

-Prior experience with utilizing solid customer-focused consulting skills and the ability to influence Business Stakeholders.

-Prior experience working independently, managing projects and priorities under tight deadlines, and in a dynamic and changing environment.

-Prior experience with development of effective presentations through the use of MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Power Point and potentially Project and Visio.

-Demonstrated experience managing procurement contracts with knowledge of contract best practices.

-Prior experience with working effectively across different teams, processes and technologies to attain desired business, operational and compliance results.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Procurement/Certified Purchasing Manager is desired

Procurement/Professional Print Production Certification is desired
