POSITION SUMMARY

Medicare is a top growth area for Aetna as an enterprise and for the Government business. In 2019, the Group Retiree business will be responsible for over $10 billion in revenue. The Sr. Strategy Consultant supports the growth of Aetna group Medicare membership by leading the development of customer-focused, strategically oriented proposals that focus on financial positioning, product offerings, network access, and the Aetna Value Story. The Sr. Strategy Consultant sets direction, develops and executes strategy, and has overall responsibility for all facets of Medicare-specific RFP content in addition to overall accountability for the quality and timeliness of Medicare-specific RFP responses.

Fundamental Components:

The Sr. Strategy Consultant will perform the following tasks:

Gathers information from source systems to complete Medicare-specific RFPs and responses, which may include network statistical data, questionnaire responses, statistical facts, sample materials required for the RFP including standard reports supplied to plan sponsor, product brochures, ID cards, etc.

Manages Medicare RFP responses by coordinating with appropriate areas of the organization to ensure timeliness and quality of the responses.

Customizes questionnaire responses based on case-specific quotation strategy and customer priorities.

Conducts thorough research to create questionnaire responses where a standard response does not exist.

Oversees all required RFP follow up, including responding to additional questions and clarification of original responses.

Mentors and trains less experienced staff and internal sales partners. Monitors RFP work plan progress and ensures adherence to best practice guidelines.

Shares expertise with team members and/or other internal constituents and has successfully developed strong working relationships with the field and internal constituents.

Leads department projects, completion of consultant surveys and other assigned ad hoc requests from Sales.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Project Management and Strong Organizational Skills..

3-5 years of RFP or project management experience desirable.

Must enjoy working in a fast paced, team environment while managing multiple priorities.

Must be organized and efficient to manage deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate across the business.

Excellent analytical skills

Excellent writing skills

Medicare Advantage experience or knowledge preferred

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Telework Specifications:

Part-Time Telework (ex: 2 days office-based, 3 days telework)

Option for telework will be evaluated after a certain period of employment
