POSITION SUMMARY

Aetna is looking for an accounting professional with strong attention to detail and communication skills to assist with the preparation of and analysis behind Aetnas statutory financial statements.

Fundamental Components:

Job responsibilities include the preparation of various statutory deliverables, including quarterly and annual statements, supplementary filings to the states or the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and audited financial statements.

The candidate would be expected to perform analysis on entity financials to understand out-of-trend movements and work with various internal business partners to understand the underlying results.

The candidate will be expected to become proficient on statutory accounting guidance, and work across teams to suggest and implement process improvements.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

The ideal candidate would have 2 or more years of accounting, auditing, reporting or financial analysis experience, preferably with an insurance company. The ideal candidate would also have strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, and have strong communication skills.

EDUCATION

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
